Kelvin Fletcher’s Rural Life: From Emmerdale Star to Family Farmer

Kelvin Fletcher, best known for playing Andy Sugden in ITV’s Emmerdale, has left the spotlight of soap operas for the serenity of rural life. The 39-year-old actor now resides on a 120-acre farm near the Peak District with his wife, Liz Marsland, and their four children.

Life Beyond the Dales

Kelvin and Liz’s new life is a far cry from the hustle of showbiz. The couple manages a bustling farm with 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, six chickens, a cat, and their loyal dog, Ginger. Their countryside journey, full of challenges and cherished memories, will be showcased in their upcoming series, Fletcher’s Family Farm.

Describing the shift as a “rollercoaster ride,” Kelvin and Liz have embraced their rural lifestyle. The series aims to give fans a glimpse into the trials and triumphs of balancing farm life with raising four children under the age of seven.

Kelvin and Liz: A Love Story

Kelvin and Liz’s relationship began in childhood but blossomed romantically in 2009 after reconnecting. They married six years later in a lavish ceremony in London’s One Mayfair. Despite their strong bond, their marriage has seen its share of challenges, particularly during Kelvin’s acting days.

The actor’s on-screen romantic scenes and constant fan attention reportedly caused friction early in their relationship. Liz, an actress herself, even avoided watching Emmerdale, admitting it made her feel uncomfortable. Kelvin handled the situation with humor, often calling Liz to forewarn her about on-screen kisses.

Overcoming Challenges

In 2010, the couple briefly split, with reports attributing the breakup to Liz’s struggles with Kelvin’s public-facing career. A source revealed, “Liz was worn down by the attention Kelvin received from fans.” However, they reconciled and have since built a life of mutual trust and understanding.

The move to the countryside has brought peace and a stronger sense of family for the couple. Now, Kelvin describes their farming life as “a perfect blend of hard work, laughter, and unforgettable memories.”
